The Aeolian archipelago to explore by catamaran

The archipelago of the Aeolian Islands just off the north coast of Sicily, has the typical morphology of volcanic islands shaped by the sea and the wind, so evocative to have earned the recognition of UNESCO World Heritage.

Sailing with our catamaran Zahra takes place between the various islands that make up the archipelago: Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Panarea, Lipari, Filicudi and Alicudi.

Vulcano

Vulcano stands with its crater a short distance from the village and characterizes the whole landscape.

The geothermal activity is easily perceived so that in the beach of Fumarole there are several hot water points.

It is the closest island to Sicily, and is renowned for its long black beaches, warm and alive land.

Its most fascinating bays are the Cala del Monaco and the Cala Formaggio, as well as the beautiful Piscine di Venere.

Among the cliffs there are the beautiful Grotta del Cavallo and the bay of Ignuda.

Stromboli

Iddu (him) as the locals call him, is the famous volcano that characterizes the whole island and constitutes the image of reference all over the world.

Stromboli outlines the profile of the island and offers the spectacle of Sciara di fuoco, that slope that consists of lapilli and lava that slides directly from the crater into the sea.

At sunset the island reveals itself in all its beauty.

To the holiday on the water you can add the possibility of hiking on the volcano, or a simple walk in the small villages that animate it, such as Ginostra reachable only by sea.

The air is an enveloping mix of scents of the Mediterranean maquis and volcanic fumes that make the stay even more evocative.

Salina

It is located in the middle of the archipelago and is made up of small equally small villages, caves in your and pebble beaches.

It is characterized by the only presence of fresh water of the entire archipelago.

It takes its name from a small lake of sea water where salt was once extracted.

Its evocative beauty has been made known thanks to the film “Il postino” by Massimo Troisi, shot in Pollara, a bay with the Faraglione Rock in the center.

Panarea

The catamaran tour to the Aeolian Islands must include Panarea, the most worldly of the islands, full of bars and shops.

For lovers of nightlife a stop here is a must. It is worth abandoning life on the water for a few hours and diving into life on the ground.

In particular, an aperitif is not to be missed at sunset on the terrace of the Raya, one of the most famous places.

It is dotted with small coves and islets to explore during the day:
Lisca Bianca and Bottaro, Cala Zimamari protected from the winds, the caves of the islet, Basiluzzo.

Lipari

Lipari is the largest of the islands of the archipelago, rich in history, with several archaeological settlements that you can visit.

The sea is still the main attraction.

Our catamaran holiday in the Aeolian Islands is complete with a stop at the famous Faraglioni, passing through the Sponda di Vinci, crossing the cave baiadere of Pomice.

Filicudi e Alicudi

They are the most distant islands and much loved by those who want to get away from everyday life and stress.

The Grotta del bue marino and Pecorini a mare in Filicudi are unmissable stops with our catamaran.
Beautiful seabeds and rock walls, crystal clear waters make it a favorite destination for divers.

Give us a call. We are ready to organize your catamaran trip to the Aeolian Islands.
